My name is Josh and I am a health and fitness connoisseur with a background in healthcare and a degree concentrated in Adult Fitness and Wellness Management. I am working toward a Master’s Degree in Biomechanics to study injury prevention in runners and other populations.

I thoroughly enjoy picking up random hobbies or just reading extensively about them. I recently picked up photography as my wife and I traveled to Italy for our honeymoon in August. Another hobby I have read about is home brewing beer–we will see where that one goes, :). My lifelong passion is running. As of 2013, I have completed many 5ks, 10ks, a half-marathon, and 5 full-marathons. My future goal is to complete a full Ironman and not only qualify, but compete in the Boston Marathon.

When I am not training for full marathons or working out in general, spending time with my wonderful wife, our Yorkshire Terrier (writing his breed out in full instead of “Yorkie” makes me feel manlier, just kidding, he is a great dog!), or in class, I am most likely home remodeling, landscaping, doing something crafty in general, research, or just spending “precious time” on social media.

As a runner, my current goal is to surpass the time to qualify for the Boston Marathon (3 hours 05 minutes for my age group) and to one day run in this most prestigious marathon of them all. With that, I am a nerd when it comes to the history of the Boston Marathon and the organization which organizes it, the Boston Athletic Association–especially since I wrote my Honors Thesis in undergrad about the history of the Boston Marathon, :). But, b/c I have this goal, occasionally I lose sight of my enjoyment for running as I follow a schedule.

We will see where my mind and time takes me with this…
