Client of the Month: Meet Rachelle

Client of the Month: Meet Rachelle

Where are you originally from?

Raised on a dairy farm in Bethel, Ohio. Now I live in Amelia, Ohio.

What do you like to do during your free time?

Hang out with friends, watch television especially crappy “reality” shows, read.

Rachelle always shows up and is ready to give it all she has during her workouts! I cannot ever recall a time where I had to motivate her to do something.

How long have you been a client of Reed’s W&FT?

July 19th, 2015 was my first personal training session with Josh

What was your fitness regimen prior to Reed’s W&FT and what made you choose/switch to Reed’s W&FT?

I really did not have a fitness regimen. I was such a couch potato and the numbers on the scale kept getting bigger and bigger. That was eye opening.

How has your fitness and / or nutrition regimen changed?

For the first few months I met with Josh once per week at the studio for personal training, and then would walk and/or do a home work out a couple other times per week. Now in addition to our weekly one-on-one personal training session, I have started attending group training sessions twice per week. I have also purchased some equipment for my house (resistance bands, kettle bells, medicine ball). I just signed up for my first 5K Run/Walk, joining Reed’s W&FT at the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis in December. As far as nutrition, I still struggle with that part. I know what I need to do, but that’s easier said than done for me!

What do you like best about Reed’s W&FT?

Josh is very knowledgeable and is willing to answer any questions you have. He is encouraging without being too pushy.

What is your favorite cheat meal?

Mexican. I can’t imagine my life without chips and salsa!

What is your advice for others?

Keep reminding yourself slow and steady wins the race. You didn’t put the weight on overnight, so don’t expect it to come off that fast.

Tell us your story:

I have Type 2 Diabetes and had a quarterly check-in with my doctor. I got on the scale at the beginning of the appointment and my weight was the highest it had ever been. I was almost to that number I said I would never, ever be. I left that appointment upset, but knowing it was time to finally do something. I did an online search of personal trainers in the area. I think it was the very next day that I set up a consultation with Josh. Then that weekend we had our first personal training session.

Feel free to add anything else here:

Reed’s W&FT is a very welcoming environment. My 13 year old son has joined me on some of the group training sessions and Josh has been patient with showing him proper techniques. It’s great to find someone who can work with all ages and abilities.
